So now it’s time for the slideshow! When I went through and edited all of these, it reminded me of how fun their wedding was! Mike and Jessie told me they wanted things to be very different and people just to have fun! They had all sorts of stations of food that they all loved (and they were all delicious!). People danced all night and from what I hear the party went on way after the wedding as well! It was a blast to photograph!

Here are some of the things you may notice:
1. Kaya (their dog) is really important to both of them
2. If you send out a guy to pick out your card box, he may just come back with pinatas
3. Jessie and Mike have wonderful family and friends who like to have a lot of fun!
4. Jessie did all of the flowers!! They picked them up at the farmers market and made everything! Best DIY flowers I’ve seen!
5. There’s way too many pictures that I think they should put on a giant canvas. Just saying.

So if you’re looking for an awesome wedding venue, go look at Architectural Artifacts!

Mike and Jessie it was great to be a part of your day!

I’ve been waiting to post this all weekend! I just ran out of time each day to spend at my computer to blog about it. Jessie and Mike’s wedding was definitely untraditional, but I loved it!! First, their dog Kaya made another appearance (remember their engagement session where Kaya took over? Love it!) and was so much fun during the ceremony!

Jessie and Mike decided to have their entire wedding events at Architectural Artifacts in Chicago. If you’re looking for a hip, modern, not traditional reception and ceremony space, definitely check out Architectural Artifacts located in the Ravenswood neighborhood.

I loved photographing their wedding! And did you know Jessie is the queen of gelato in Chicago? And of course her business name is Black Dog Gelato after Kaya I’m sure! She made some of the gelato for the wedding and it was AWESOME, I had the salted peanut flavor and it was to die for. Maybe I should’ve negotiated gelato as part of my payment?? Is it too late?

Remember when I said Jessie and Mike were untraditional? This is right when Jessie walked in and they saw each other for the first time, just in the lobby of Architectural Artifacts! There was no staging or anything, it was such a sweet moment!

I love these two images! One was when Kaya started barking during the ceremony following their first kiss and then another of Kaya greeting them on their recessional! Love it!

After the ceremony, I got to take Jessie and Mike all around for portraits!
