Julie and Andrew were not originally my clients and I took their wedding from a fellow photographer who ended up with a due date the week before their wedding! Needless to say, I was happy to take it over and hoped that Julie and Andrew would be excited for me to photograph their wedding! They were, I walked in and Julie told me that she loved everything I did and it was all good! They had a inter-religious ceremony incorporating parts of Jewish and Catholic traditions that was very personal and a fun ceremony! Following the ceremony, we did some portraits as the sun was losing light but Julie and Andrew were so cute, so fun, and did whatever I asked! Enough talking, more slideshowing…

I’m going to start out by apologizing for the length of this slideshow, I probably should’ve broken it into 2 but I didn’t. So that’s just how it works! Jessica and Lane planned for just a wonderful day with lots of small details and personalized parts, it was obvious who they both were as a couple and their time for just portraits was amazing. I couldn’t narrow it down and they are some of my favorites from the year! The day was not without excitement though! There was lots of mosquitoes that attacked and even a fainting bridesmaid (but don’t worry, she’s ok!) and more, but they both took it in stride! During dinner (at which I sat at her parents table, she had warned me they were very southern and wanted to make sure I was taken care of, which was amazing! Love it!), anyway, I looked outside and saw a very yellow glow and grabbed Jessica and Lane to go out to what I thought was going to be a gorgeous sunset, we were about 15 minutes too early, but I’m SO glad we went out when we did. We had the large sunset sun glowing with amazing color, then it rained for about 30 seconds, and Jessica and Lane got to see the double rainbow on their wedding day. I seriously love that series! Ok enough talk, more pictures.

Soledad and Kurt are getting married at the end of the month, which means that their wedding fast approaching! I’m very excited to capture their wedding day but we also squeezed in their engagement shoot. We shot at Cantigny, which you know I just love, and the grounds were pretty spectacular that weekend (the grounds change quite often). We did get eaten by mosquitoes but it was totally worth it. I love me some sunsety light which I love about Soledad’s and Kurt’s images!

So I wonder how long Lissa’s been stalking my blog for part 2? Since part 1 went up? Most likely! Lissa and Phil’s reception was a ton of fun, and it was national Tequila day, so there was a bit of celebration! And honestly, anyone who dances to Apache at their wedding is my friend. So enough talking, more slideshowin’

Ah I loved Lissa and Phil’s wedding!  Their chapel was gorgeous and bright, it didn’t pour rain as it had planned, and I just generally love their wedding photos!  All the time, I’m extremely jealous of my clients as I wish I had these images on my wedding day!  I’d love to have some like these of David and I!  And that’s a great thing for Lissa and Phil.  You may remember their amazing engagement session and how they were easy clients and barely needed direction, ah love.

I wonder how much Jess has been checking my blog since she got back from the honeymoon? Well the wait is finally over! Jess and Adam were a really fun couple to work with! Jess is extremely on time and Adam is relaxed enough to go along with it (don’t worry, I’m a time keeper too Jess!). We were discussing a rain plan when I mentioned possibly hitting up Lynfred Winery in Roselle for pictures, Jess said screw any park, we’re going for wine! And we did! It was great and produced some of my favorite images of the year! It was so nice for the bridal party to relax and have a glass while we finished up with Jess and Adam. And we won’t even talk about the party because I’ve never seen a dance floor so packed all night long!

So you saw part 1 here right? Well if not, go back, watch, it’s a good time! Once we hit up Millennium Park, it start raining! And then Kim and Rob took off running, I walked. It cleared up and we hit up Kinzie St. Bridge for just a few more photos and then it was off to the reception at Holiday Inn Mart Plaza! It was fun and Kim and Rob even had a surprise first dance!

Kim and Rob were definitely one of my favorite couples.  It started at their engagement session when they jumped in the fountain in Millennium Park and well, they’re Bears fans and that’s good with me!  They definitely knew how to relax on their wedding day despite many obstacles which I will now list :)

1. Kim got bit by her dog a few days before the wedding, the stitch had to come out on her wedding day (which you will see in the slideshow!)
2. Her other beloved dog died just days before the wedding :(
3. The limo for the girls, got a flat tire (but a random stranger with a superman belt helped change it!)
4. The limo’s didn’t exactly have air blasting.
5. The coppers at North Ave beach wouldn’t let us park there so the limos had to return and pick us up on the side of the on ramp to Lake Shore Dr.
6. It was hot. Very very hot.
7. The rings got lost….but found!
8. I got bit by something but was not allergic wahoo!
9. and probably more, but I don’t remember…

The moral of this story was, that Kim and Rob didn’t let all of the craziness damper their day, they had fun, they laughed and it was all fine! Their wedding pictures are some of my favorites! I just love the ones of them in the financial district! And they did have a wonderful long honeymoon where I’m sure their adventure continued! You’ll also see that Kim had all the girls sign her shoe, and the one who’s name was most legible by the end of the night would be the next to get married or have a baby :)

Kerby and Chris were a fun couple to work with, they were very non-traditional in a lot of aspects. I also knew that their photos were very important to them! We didn’t have a lot of time to work with but with their ceremony and reception being at the Herrington, I knew downtown Geneva quite well :) They added lots of personal touches through their day and they even made all the paper flowers! And how can you not love those rainbow leopard print shoes!? Enough talking, it’s slideshow time.

This was probably the wedding that I was most nervous about all year! You see, Joe and Melissa are our good friends, so much that Joe was in our wedding as a groomsman (and got kicked out for knocking over a table or two…HA!) and my husband was also in the wedding (he’s one of the tall drinks of water). It’s always nerve-racking to do photos for friends and knowing this crazy bunch, but they all were very good for me and it was so much fun to give these photos to them! David and I sat at watched the slideshow last week and laughed and really enjoyed it, I’ve been putting off blogging until I knew that Joe and Melissa would be able to see it since they went to Turkey on their honeymoon! So without further ado, here’s their wedding slideshow!
