Holly and Bill’s engagement session was way back in 2010 but I just never got around to blogging it! There were lots of images on my facebook page and Holly came by that next week to get her disc so it wasn’t something that I ever remembered to do since they got their images already! But it was one of my favorite engagement sessions last year! And the last one! I really can’t wait for their wedding, it’s going to be a ton of fun and completely stylish! Holly and Bill love the sunset light and we took advantage of it, heavily. I know it’s not everyone’s favorite but it’s one of mine and definitely Holly and Bill’s!
Engagement sessions are some of my favorite things. They not only allow me to shoot the couple before their wedding day but it lets everyone relax about pictures when the day comes! I love being able to pose without the stress of a wedding timeline and it’s definitely one of my favorite things to give a couple some images that they love of themselves and will cherish for years to come!
Bryana and Deak are two that you may or may not have seen on my blog before! They were both at Stephanie and Daves wedding and Deak was in Erika and Matt’s wedding! So I’ve seen a lot of them and it’s been fun! We finally got around to doing their engagement pictures and it was so much fun! In fact, one of my favorite sessions to date! The color was perfect in Lincoln Park this time of year and I was so happy there was still leaves on the trees and it wasn’t too cold, though I did break out the UnderArmour for this one (yes, I have heat gear). We had a lot of fun and I really can’t wait for their wedding next year at one of my favorite places ever, Cantigny!
So without further ado, a nice little slideshow that’s now mobile ready! YAY! And just for you Bryana, the song is called Save Me
I’ve been meaning to blog about this adventure (well that’s what we’ll call it) all summer. We got tricked asked to watch David’s aunt and uncle’s monster lab for about 2 weeks. It was a long couple first days. There’s nothing like pairing a 40lb puppy with a 85lb dog. Puppy wants to play, dog wants to really play. And not in our fenced in backyard. ONLY in our living room. Scary. I feared for our sliding glass door that it would be shattered from the dogs running into it several times a day. They wouldn’t sleep unless we separated them and when we did, they were out within seconds. FINALLY on day 3, they passed out in the same room, exhaustion had gotten to them. Now, Isabelle got man-handled, don’t let it fool you, but she kept going back for more! By the end of it, Isabelle was cunning and knew how to get away. Mabel, was lazy to say the least. She didn’t really run, it was more of a fast walk. And in all honesty, we worried about her having a heart attack more than our dog being manhandled. So here’s some fun pictures. So if you need a dog sitter, call us, bring lots of wine for us to have and we’re so not responsible for your dog
Peggy and Eric are a blast to be around! They’re so much fun, always laughing and it was more like I was walking around talking to friends instead of walking around with clients taking their photos…which is the BEST part. I can’t wait until their wedding in March! We’re hoping for a lovely March day and either way, they’re getting dragged outside for a short bit
did you miss the fabulous part 1? It was a picnic!
Part 2 is more along the lines of a more traditional one of my engagement sessions Megan is wearing one of her fabulous creations that are available on etsy and makeup was done by the fabulous Cynthia Sally!
This is part one of two obviously, this is the picnic portion of our shoot. I had always wanted to do a picnic shoot and Megan and Rich were definitely game for it! They even brought along Violet, there cute as a button puppy who was scared of me until I gave her treats, then I was her new-best-friend! Megan also owns MeganLimJewelry on Etsy and her stuff is fantastic! I love all her hand-made delicate items. I LOOOOOVE all of these!! Too hard to choose any real favorites, they all are!
This was a fun session for me and it just happens that I love talking with Brooke and Kevin (which was proved by chatting on the side of the road after the session for about 2 hours…sorry to talk your ears off!!!). I’ve known Brooke for over a year now and we have a blast together. We literally just talk and talk and talk, and we both work from home so we have the same silly stories about human contact and needing it eventually and it’s sad when it’s only the barista or cashier when you pick up lunch! I loooooved so much about their session and even got to try out my brand new digital infrared camera!! Yes! Infrared, it’s a lot of fun and has a charming quality to it! I’ve been using it here and there at my sessions and weddings, it’s very unique!
Kerby and Chris’s wedding is approaching FAST! Like as in next Friday…no worries though! We did sneak in an engagement session and went to the location that Chris proposed at. It was a scorcher but evening light is probably my favorite ever. Lots of fun flare and a bit different from my normal engagement sessions! We had a lot of fun and Norah wanted nothing to do with me once she learned about hunting in the fields. She also had a giant tick on her, but the rest of us were safe! Ok, enough talking, more pictures.
Kelli and Brandon and Einstein too, came out to Geneva to do their engagement session! Kelli and Brandon are friends of Shannon and Matt, and well, you’ll see a lot of Brandon in their slideshow…haha…enough talking, time for pictures since Kelli’s been stalking my blog for a couple weeks now I shut up now
Annette and Josh wanted a beachy session for their 2nd set of engagement pictures. Their first set came from Cantigny and I did love it! Though Annette told me the instant we started that she didn’t want any kissy pictures, or maybe just a few, but only a few! I let them do their own thing and you can have some great engagement pictures without being all kissy. We headed up to the beach by Loyola University, it was private, not too inhabited so they never felt like a show was being put on like we sometimes get at North Ave beach! I’ve had these done for awhile now but just am now getting around to blogging them! I do love them all!
