Ok it’s FINALLY here! My annual best of contest! I’m sure you understand the delay but I wasn’t going to not do it! So here goes…winner gets a 16×24 canvas! There will be prizes for 2nd and 3rd place as well but I’m not sure what they are yet, I like to leave my options open in case something cool comes up!

If you’ve noticed, I haven’t been around much and I have good reason…

Aiden Michael was born on 12/24/11 at 2:06am. He’s our little Christmas present and is sure keeping us on our toes!

Forgive me if I take a bit longer to answer emails (I’m trying to get back to you within 24 hours!) but don’t hesitate to contact me! I will get back to you! And if you’re looking for a wedding photographer, I’m happy to talk to you via email, phone or even skype, we can also work out a meeting.

Marisa and Tim

Marisa and Tim are some of my favorite clients! Mainly because they’ve been with me since the beginning! I didn’t actually shoot their wedding, but I did do a trash the dress with them and since then have taken photos of them yearly! It’s a great thing for them because they LOVE having the new pictures of themselves each year as they’ve gone along and awesome pictures for their holiday cards! We met in a location that Marisa scouted out in Milwaukee and it was perfect! We even found a beat up old truck! I even believe that Marisa has convinced Tim that yearly pictures are a good idea And I concur!

Alya and Hal

Alya and Hal wanted more of a winter themed engagement session but it hadn’t snowed at all and they wanted pictures for their holiday cards! Who knew that November and December in Chicago would be so non-snow and kind of tolerable as far as weather goes?! We had no clue! We’re just happy we didn’t get rained out! That would’ve been horrible! We started off at State Street and then headed to Millennium Park which still had trees filled with color even though it was the end of November, that’s just craziness! I can’t wait for Alya and Hal’s fabulous Chicago wedding next year! It’s sure to be a blast and just as wonderful as they are!

Me!

So I completely forgot and well was a bit busy to put these up but every year I make David do a photoshoot! I tell him it’s good practice and I love having new pictures! This year was more about me because well, you know, the whole pregnant thing! I know I haven’t talked much about it but I’m due January 3rd so just right around the corner! I’ve been trying to coax the little guy out for about a week now but he’s not listening! I had Jessica who’s my 2nd shooter 98% of the time come and take these (and I did some headshots for her too, I’ll show you soon!) and I love them! She’s going to do a guest post here soon so be on the lookout! I’m sorry the bog has been quiet, I’ve been preparing for the baby to come and doing all the not fun behind the scenes stuff that isn’t shooting like taxes and organization and backing up. It’s not a blast! So without further ado, here’s me, in all my pregnantness, I’d show you a picture now, but it’s like I’m smuggling a watermelon out of the store. Yikes! I have a couple more sessions to put up for your viewing pleasure and yes, we will still have the end of the year contest Don’t worry!

(and yes, I’m posting this as a hope that I do in fact go into labor, every single time I’ve posted a maternity session, the baby is born within a couple days. ::fingers crossed::)

Marjorie and Rob: the wedding

Marjorie and Rob’s wedding was my final wedding of the year! And I couldn’t have gone out any other way! They were completely laid back and went with the flow and even though it was a bit cold, they didn’t seem to mind! They’re wonderful people who have an awesome dog who I still need to meet. Marjorie asked if we could hang out sometime after the wedding, I told her definitely! We had a great time at the wedding and it was so much fun! Their bridal party was ready to party from the start which always is fun! We stopped by a tavern in Long Grove for some quick pictures and then took our time to get to the reception and then things really started getting crazy! I’m not sure what happened after I left, but I’m not sure they want proof of that either! So enjoy your photos!

Michele and Bryce: the wedding

Michele and Bryce’s wedding was a lot of fun and they were so much fun to be around too! I’ve been so lucky to have such wonderful clients like them this year (and of course in years past)! Despite some hiccups (because really, what’s a wedding without at least one hiccup?!) we still had fun and got some amazing pictures! I’m completely obsessed with reflections these days and it was fun to shoot around some christmas lights in downtown Arlington Heights! Despite it being November, we had great weather and found some color still! So I hope you enjoy! They’re some of my favorite photos of the year!

Chelsea and Jerrod: the wedding

I’ve been meaning to write this post forever but just never got around to it! Chelsea did tell me she was happy to wait since the pictures were the last part of the wedding to wait for, and I promise you, that it’s worth the wait! I had a blast with them and their intimate wedding was so much fun and the food was great! I love all the personal touches they had and how easy they were to photograph! We only had time for a couple of stops thanks to unpredictable Chicago traffic but we made it work! I hope you enjoy these photos!!

Brittany and Mike

Brittany and Mike are also another fabulous 2012 couple who wanted Fall pictures! We chose downtown Long Grove because it’s adorably cute and really it is! I just love it down there and there’s always some wonderful things to photograph around! Brittany and Mike live in Indiana and were a referral from past awesome clients! I think we laughed the whole session! They were a blast to be around!
