You hear me a lot talking about canvases and prints and how you should have them in your home. You hear me talk about gallery mounts and albums. And I know I usually push people to an 16×20 canvas because I have big walls and a 16×20 isn’t as large as you think when you get it on a wall. I will tell you, I am no slacker when it comes to printing my own pictures! I have 2 16×20 canvases, 1 16×24, 1 20×24, 1 8×12 and a 10×10 canvas. I have a 17 image photo wall as well just in my living room alone (I’ll take pictures and update with them!).

But the purpose of this event is to make you PRINT your images! They’re no good to be in your desk drawer on the DVD’s that I gave you. You should enjoy at least one image on your wall!

So here it is, the Print It Event! I promise not to only offer large canvases since a grouping would look fantastic!

Starting with…canvas!

I love canvas, it’s easy to hang, easy to decide and really looks stunning on a wall!

8×10 – $100
11×14 – $125
16×20 – $200
16×24 (my new favorite size) – $225
20×30 – $275

Gallery Mounts
I have several gallery mounts myself. I love them as they’re not heavy, ready to hang and look great small and large. And really, anything I don’t have to frame is happiness to me! It’s also a cheaper option than canvas but is still a high impact piece!

8×10 – $50
11×14 – $75
10×20 (LOVE this for a storyboard of a few images) – $90
16×20 – $120
18×24 – $125
20×30 – $150

FRAMED fine art prints!
Ok, I’m REALLY excited about these. These are the coolest frames and like nothing you can buy in stores, and guess what, now you can order your image AND have it framed and delivered to you, no worrying.

All prices INCLUDE the fine art print in the pricing!
For the sizes below, it’ll be buy 1 get one 50% off (equal or lesser value) since at these sizes, you want a couple!
4×6 and 5×7 – $60
8×10 – $120
11×14 – $175
10×20 – $200

Now you’ll get $100 off each of these sizes:
16×20 – $350
18×24 – $375
20×30 – $425

And look at all the colors and different frame types!

OK, this sale will go until the end of January 2011! Once that date passes, the prices go back up. Again I said this was the PRINT IT event, so order your prints!

Ok, so when Kim told me she wanted to take part in my post-session offerings, she didn’t want to necessarily TRASH her dress, I told her not to worry, brought a towel and we were all good! If you remember their wedding then you know that we were kind of rained out on the day of! We had plans to go to downtown Long Grove and take advantage of all the neat areas and shops, but the weather had other plans. All in all it worked out in the end! Kim contacted me and said she and Mike really wanted pictures still in Long Grove in wedding attire, so Kim got back in the dress, convinced Mike with some coffee and there we were! Thankfully on the early November day, it was warmer than it was in October! Who knew!? Kim and Mike are the type of couple I love to photograph, they just act themselves and don’t need much direction, and well, just generally FUN! Their wedding turned into one of my new shiny sample albums (of course I’ll post when they come in!!)

So without further ado, some post-wedding photos!

At some point in this one, they realized I was laying on the ground. Seriously. Laying on the ground. I apparently scared a lot of Long Grove by doing this as well!

I met up with Jamie and her fun hubby to trash her dress! Once we got it wet we realized that it was HEAVY once wet and didn’t go fully in water for fear she’d not be able to carry it at all! We went around Millennium Park for this one and I did get to see a lot of it that I normally don’t!

I’m on a roll today huh? (I still have a wedding and an engagement to put up today on the blog!!) I decided to do this trash the dress in downtown Naperville and it was like going back home (I lived in Naperville for a little over 5 years!) I knew all the nooks and crannies of the riverwalk where we did this trash the dress! Kaitlin was being stared at a lot for walking around in her wedding dress and me following photographing her. I’m sure she felt like a model!

Kaitlin then changed into a short white dress to get wet in! She didn’t want to hurt her wedding dress too much but I hold it wouldn’t have hurt it at all!

Lauren participated in my Trash-the-Dress-Palooza event and I’m finallly getting around to uploading and editing these! She’s been super patient because I’ve been so busy! I just love trash the dresses! I wanted to edit it sooner but still had so much that was going on all the time! Sometimes I call it a post-session because some people don’t want to fully get crazy with their wedding dresses.

I have a lot more coming! Some engagements, some more weddings, some slideshows and my adorable nephew who’s only 4 days old! I’m also going to be putting the photobooth in a real life situation in a few weeks, so things may change with it after it’s been put through a real situation, but I’ll notify you of that via the blog or twitter!

Me and Jenn met up at Redfield Estates, we got eaten by mosquitoes, we laid in the grass, we got scared by some sort of very scary beetle that attached itself to her dress (which I so very courageously removed…ok, so I panicked…), got visited by a raccoon and some bunnies! Needless to say, we had a lot of fun and laughed too!

I love doing trash the dress sessions! Even if I didn’t shoot your wedding! They’re just so much fun to me and I get to try a lot of new things that I normally don’t have time for during the wedding day or I really can’t ask you to lay on the ground, well, I could, but you probably wouldn’t oblige! My brides, let me know what you’re comfortable with on your day, blankets and sweaters can be sat on!

Until next time!

Why hello faithful blog readers. I know you were hoping for slideshows but instead, I’m announcing my trash-the-dress-a-palooza. I’m offering these at SEVERELY discounted rates that are unheard of.

What is it: Trash the Dress session

Cost: $20, you’ll get at least 15 images on a disc (probably more!) and 3 – 8×10 prints

Conditions: I choose your location, no questions asked. It could be in the suburbs it could be in a part of the city, it could be just me, it could be me and my assistants, but it’ll be at least me. I get to choose the dates to do this, will either be on a Sunday or a weekday if you’re available but either one will work. They will be done in late July/August/September. You should get your proofs within 3-4 weeks. Since I have a few spots in mind, let me know your location and I’ll try and get close to where you are for that one. Also, if your husband wants to come along, yay! But if he refuses, no biggies, girls welcomed by themselves or even if you wanted to do it as a friend grouping. Must be willing to lay on the ground, sit in alleys, I need a few girls to actually get the dress wet: beach, fountain, stream, etc. I promise no cutting of the dresses will occur, just some dirt and grime that’s no worse than your wedding day. Brides-to-be welcomed if they have a dress willing to get dirty (check craigslist for cheap dresses or even long nordstrom rack dresses on clearance, lots of great options for inexpensive alternatives)

ONLY 5 SPOTS AVAILABLE FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. So as soon as you email me, you get the spot. Referrals will get a free session and extra gift from their session (if you tell others and they in their email say so-and-so sent me to you)

So send your email to kara@karaschultz.com with trash-the-dress-a-palooza in the subject line and that you want to participate! Specify what month you’d prefer, your location and we’ll go from there to set it up!

And to leave you with a cute picture of my not-so-small puppy :)
