Little Miss L

I met up with Little Miss L and her wonderful parents on a fabulous afternoon in Lincoln Park! It was just gorgeous out, and mildly cold too, which is perfect considering how sweltering it’s been! They wanted a photoshoot with her downtown since that’s where they’re living now and really wanted to capture that. I love Lincoln Park, I’ve tended to go there more and more these days because of the wonderful diversity of areas to shoot.

Little Miss M

One of my ever lovely wedding clients had purchased a session for her family over the holidays and we finally got around to doing it! It was a bit hot but we survived and little miss M was too cute! She loved cars and buses and basically anything that moved! She’s just a little over a year and so adorable!

a little something different…

I know, I’m a wedding photographer and I like it that way! But that doesn’t mean I don’t translate my style into other sessions, but sometimes they don’t get on the blog right away or at all during heavy wedding season! Most of the other sessions I do are by referral only because I like to work with couples as their lives progress! Stefanie was one of my boudoir clients and contacted me to do maternity and eventually newborn shots! I’m very excited for the arrival of their little one that should be soon! Again, another session at Cantigny, you know, I just love it there and so did they! So here’s some maternity pictures of the gorgeous Stefanie and her husband!

Loretta (and…)

Well Loretta came to visit me the other day and show off her belly! Not only was she only a few days away from her due date, she was wearing heels, happily getting around and just happy in general! Baby has yet to make their appearance yet, so I still have time to get this blog post up in hopes that maybe it’ll decide to appear! Loretta’s mom even came with as a babysitter and hopped in for some photos too! Can’t wait to meet the little guy as he’ll be my first wedding couple to come to me to have baby photos done! I love seeing families grow!

Collin: A year in review

So Collin is finally one! It’s been a lot of fun to see him grow and every time he learned something new! He’s a hard one to get to smile and laugh and doesn’t like sweets very much but he did have fun getting his hands in the cake and frosting! Puppies!

And maybe some people…a few weeks ago I wanted to do a session, just something as the dog and the husband were not willing to budge much on the whole thing. HA. So Anna contacted me and said they needed some more pictures and while we attempted to get pictures of everyone and then the dogs just weren’t having any of it, and it was cold out so we got some funny ones of each of the dogs! The brown dogs (also known as the brownies to Anna) are available for adoption! One is male and one is female, both are pretty docile and would be good in a house that doesn’t have young kids as they are a bit older! If you’re interested in adopting one of the sweet things, email me and I’ll hook you up with Anna!

The Print It Event!

You hear me a lot talking about canvases and prints and how you should have them in your home. You hear me talk about gallery mounts and albums. And I know I usually push people to an 16×20 canvas because I have big walls and a 16×20 isn’t as large as you think when you get it on a wall. I will tell you, I am no slacker when it comes to printing my own pictures! I have 2 16×20 canvases, 1 16×24, 1 20×24, 1 8×12 and a 10×10 canvas. I have a 17 image photo wall as well just in my living room alone (I’ll take pictures and update with them!).

But the purpose of this event is to make you PRINT your images! They’re no good to be in your desk drawer on the DVD’s that I gave you. You should enjoy at least one image on your wall!

Goodbye Photographic Prints, Hello Fine Art Prints

I’m saying goodbye to photographic prints and saying hello to fine art prints. It was an easy decision once I saw the outcomes and have a steady supplier of these.

Now you may ask what’s the difference? Well, the difference is that your fine art wedding print will be numbered, authenticated and a limited edition to start! Fine art papers come in a variety of substances and are green products like bamboo, sugarcane and more! The papers have a fiber in them and are truly archival. If you would like them more glossy like a traditional photo that is also possible.

You can get them in any size you want, they’ll be ready to frame and something for you to cherish forever. These are the standard sizes and pricing for them. We can also have these papers gallery wrapped (for the same price as the traditional gallery wrap for a limited time!).

Here are the normal prices:
8×10 – $60
11×14 – $80
16×20 – $120
20×30 – $200

Since I think everyone of my awesome clients should get one of these, I’m offering them for 50% off the normal prices until November 1! All holiday orders for prints need to be in by December 1, make your holiday shopping easy and get it out of the way now!

I’m also announcing a truly unique sign in option: the signed gallery wrap! My new local company will be able to deliver a gallery wrap to your reception from earlier in the day! The only way that we can really make this work though, is if you have a first look so that I have time to edit and send it over to them. Or what we can do is an engagement photo and have everyone sign it, and then I will take it back for you to get the final coats of sealer on it! Gallery wraps on the day of start at $350 for a 16×20 and if you want just a normal sign in with an engagement picture, then it will cost the normal price of $275.

Happy Birthday Peanut Butter!!

OK, so Peanut Butter is not just something Isabelle loves in her kong, it’s also Amanda from Ladi Events dog! He had an over the top birthday party that Isabelle and I went to last month! It was a hot one and the dogs didn’t play as much as they just laid around panting and eating all the wonderful homemade treats Amanda and her mom made! Isabelle had fun, ate a lot, begged, you know, her usual deal.
