Lissette and Brett were a dream to photograph! Not only do I absolutely love these pictures, but Brett was actually excited to take them! I love when the other partner is totally into it too! It really makes for wonderful photos! This is also an example of how there are photographic opportunities wherever you look! They chose to have their session at their apartment complex where they recently moved and will be for awhile after the wedding! While most people wouldn’t think it’d be scenic, they are dead wrong! They’ll be getting married in just a couple of weeks at Byron Colby Barn! I love that venue and can’t wait for their wedding day!!

Sarah and Steve are just too much fun. They said they’re self-proclaimed nerds, it’s ok, I am too :) And we haven’t even gotten to my nerdy husband yet! (hi honey! love you!) Sarah and Steve are way too sweet, way cute and just fun. We laughed a lot and were SO happy that it wasn’t 8 million degrees at their engagement session! They laughed a lot, I got to know them really well, and yes, I do have the entire series of that incident for you, just didn’t think you’d want it on the blog ;) I’m so excited that Sarah and Steve are my 9/10/11 couple! The coveted date of the year and they’re having it at a lovely venue that I just LOVE shooting at! So without further ado….

Oh dear it’s been awhile! I didn’t mean to take a small hiatus but I guess that’s what happens when it’s hot and you’re busy running around taking pictures! I’ve been a bad blogger but at least I’ve been a good facebooker :) So they didn’t have to wait TOO long for something! So here’s an extended version of Megan and Jake’s engagement session! It was a ton of fun, and even though we had to move it up due to threat of weather, we snuck in without rain! But there was a tornado warning later that evening! EEK! So it’s definitely awesome that we got in when we did! Megan and Jake are having their reception at Hotel Baker and I can’t be more excited, I love it there! But even better, we were at Cantigny for the engagement pictures and you all know how I have a love affair there! Megan and Jake were dressed perfectly for their session! I loved her dress and shoes! Oh the shoes! Ok, enough talking, more pictures :)

And I’m back! Sorry for taking a short break, I promise to be around more now :) But a break is good for some sanity right? Right? Well you know what’s also good? Amazing client/friends! I say client friends because I feel like I know Marjorie and Rob and could spend hours just talking with them like old friends, that’s why I can’t wait until their wedding! It’ll be my last of 2011 and I know it’s going to be amazing! Not only that, but their engagement session is one of my favorites. I know I say that a lot but it’s true! I feel so very connected to all my clients that I just LOVE their photos! We even snuck in some sunset action! We were worried the sun wouldn’t come out to play but it did! So without further ado…

Holly and Bill’s engagement session was way back in 2010 but I just never got around to blogging it! There were lots of images on my facebook page and Holly came by that next week to get her disc so it wasn’t something that I ever remembered to do since they got their images already! But it was one of my favorite engagement sessions last year! And the last one! I really can’t wait for their wedding, it’s going to be a ton of fun and completely stylish! Holly and Bill love the sunset light and we took advantage of it, heavily. I know it’s not everyone’s favorite but it’s one of mine and definitely Holly and Bill’s!

Engagement sessions are some of my favorite things. They not only allow me to shoot the couple before their wedding day but it lets everyone relax about pictures when the day comes! I love being able to pose without the stress of a wedding timeline and it’s definitely one of my favorite things to give a couple some images that they love of themselves and will cherish for years to come!

You hear me a lot talking about canvases and prints and how you should have them in your home. You hear me talk about gallery mounts and albums. And I know I usually push people to an 16×20 canvas because I have big walls and a 16×20 isn’t as large as you think when you get it on a wall. I will tell you, I am no slacker when it comes to printing my own pictures! I have 2 16×20 canvases, 1 16×24, 1 20×24, 1 8×12 and a 10×10 canvas. I have a 17 image photo wall as well just in my living room alone (I’ll take pictures and update with them!).

But the purpose of this event is to make you PRINT your images! They’re no good to be in your desk drawer on the DVD’s that I gave you. You should enjoy at least one image on your wall!

So here it is, the Print It Event! I promise not to only offer large canvases since a grouping would look fantastic!

Starting with…canvas!

I love canvas, it’s easy to hang, easy to decide and really looks stunning on a wall!

8×10 – $100
11×14 – $125
16×20 – $200
16×24 (my new favorite size) – $225
20×30 – $275

Gallery Mounts
I have several gallery mounts myself. I love them as they’re not heavy, ready to hang and look great small and large. And really, anything I don’t have to frame is happiness to me! It’s also a cheaper option than canvas but is still a high impact piece!

8×10 – $50
11×14 – $75
10×20 (LOVE this for a storyboard of a few images) – $90
16×20 – $120
18×24 – $125
20×30 – $150

FRAMED fine art prints!
Ok, I’m REALLY excited about these. These are the coolest frames and like nothing you can buy in stores, and guess what, now you can order your image AND have it framed and delivered to you, no worrying.

All prices INCLUDE the fine art print in the pricing!
For the sizes below, it’ll be buy 1 get one 50% off (equal or lesser value) since at these sizes, you want a couple!
4×6 and 5×7 – $60
8×10 – $120
11×14 – $175
10×20 – $200

Now you’ll get $100 off each of these sizes:
16×20 – $350
18×24 – $375
20×30 – $425

And look at all the colors and different frame types!

OK, this sale will go until the end of January 2011! Once that date passes, the prices go back up. Again I said this was the PRINT IT event, so order your prints!

This post is WAAAAAAAAAY overdue!! But I hope it gives you a little break from work on this short week! Nicole and Scott are such a fun couple and I can’t wait to photograph their wedding next year! I was surprised when we went out to Lincoln Park that there was actually still leaves on the trees! And things were still colorful!!

They even asked me what my favorite time of year was to photograph and it was most definitely fall or spring, lots of different colors but fall lasts a bit longer. I love engagement sessions, there’s really no time constraints or rushed feeling and I’m happy to show people how to look great in photos since I find that to be my strength is the portrait part of the day.

Nicole and Scott, like most of my clients, claimed that they were unphotogenic and that they were only hoping they got one good one but I love a ton of them and here’s just a simple sampling!! (no music this time until I figure out how to make it not start on it’s own…)

And since I probably won’t be blogging for the next couple of days, Happy Thanksgiving!!

Bryana and Deak are two that you may or may not have seen on my blog before! They were both at Stephanie and Daves wedding and Deak was in Erika and Matt’s wedding! So I’ve seen a lot of them and it’s been fun! We finally got around to doing their engagement pictures and it was so much fun! In fact, one of my favorite sessions to date! The color was perfect in Lincoln Park this time of year and I was so happy there was still leaves on the trees and it wasn’t too cold, though I did break out the UnderArmour for this one (yes, I have heat gear). We had a lot of fun and I really can’t wait for their wedding next year at one of my favorite places ever, Cantigny!

So without further ado, a nice little slideshow that’s now mobile ready! YAY! And just for you Bryana, the song is called Save Me ;)
