I bet Kim is stalking my blog right now waiting for me to post their wedding picture sneak preview. Is it funny that I know which brides do this? (Hi Kim!) Despite the rainy whether that would normally put a damper on their day, Kim and Mike took it in stride and truly enjoyed their wedding day! They were one of my favorite couples to photograph, funny, relaxed and just fun in general! I knew that from their engagement session and it all came back on their wedding day! They ended up getting married indoors instead of out at the Arboretum Club in Buffalo Grove IL, this is truly an awesome venue for weddings and the staff was so accommodating for us photographing it!
Everyone started getting ready at the Hilton in Wheeling where there were so many places for pictures!

Adam and Andrea were very relaxed all day! Even though I was a little stressed that I forgot my little bag of batteries at home and made my husband drive them to me! Luckily we weren’t too far away and I got to see the puppy in the middle of a shoot! But anyway, lots of fun!
I love this, I told the boys to go stand against the wall and this is what I got:
I told them to make a funny face and this is what I got:
Nadine and Rick got married mid-august at the lovely Hotel Baker in St. Charles! Seriously, I feel in total love with that place, it’s a totally photographers paradise and just lovely to shoot a wedding at! Nadine and Rick both got ready at the Hotel in their lovely suites and they were just gorgeous! We then walked around downtown St. Charles and used the Hotel Baker lobby as a backdrop, there was so much good stuff in such a small area, I can’t wait to photograph another wedding at Hotel Baker!

Here’s a small helping to hold them over after their long honeymoon!
Loved all the shots in the Hotel Baker lobby, when I walked in I knew I was going to take some of their wedding pictures there!
Oh yeah, remember like last month when my nephew was born!? Yeah, it seems like it was just yesterday! Well I packed up my bags (and the Belley, aka Isabelle) and we headed to my brother and sister in law’s house to get these!
So I often follow many photographers blogs, I follow them on twitter and we often chat back and forth on that forum and I’m also inspired greatly by things they say.
When I read Zack Arias blog post though, something was different. He wanted the photo community to give something back, something that makes us no money, doesn’t cover our costs, doesn’t matter what but just to do something for nothing again. We often get so wrapped up in needing to make our bottom line (which gets taken away by about 50% in taxes, gotta love self-employment tax!) that we forget that we also have something to give.
So my question is: do you work or volunteer for a non-profit? Do you need some type of photographic skill but never had the resources to hire a professional (we’re expensive!)? If so, email me and I’ll chose the winner, I have some ideas but am looking to my readers to see if they can help me make a small change in this world.
I know a lot of people will say things like a small change doesn’t matter, but I remind you to that if we all make small changes, especially in these hard economic times, we can make a difference as a whole instead of as an individual. So with that said, even if you just pay it forward a little that can help! And hopefully you can help me with my call to action!
I met Kirsten and Will down in Chinatown for their engagement session and let me tell you, it was SO much fun!! We walked around since I haven’t been down there in YEARS. Unfortunately I couldn’t eat some amazing food with them because I had to head to another session! But let me tell you, this was FUN. So much fun, I processed their images a little more gritty, or should I say….dirty!
they also were patient while I tried out my new lensbaby-tilt-shift-lens
So Megan and Jeremy opted to go to one of my favorite photo places in the suburbs and that’s Cantigny in Wheaton! I love that place, perfectly sculpted gardens all year long, great grounds and it’s not crowded, not even on the weekends! I need to buy a pass for next year! That’s for sure!
We laughed a lot, in fact looking back on the pictures, Megan and Jeremy were cracking up! I didn’t know I was that funny, and I’m sure I’m not!
I’m sure Beth’s been stalking my blog for the past week for when this is going to go up. And I appreciate that I feel loved! Ok, I know you probably won’t even read this and will just hurry and click on the slideshow, it’s ok, I forgive you!

And here’s Shannon and Desiree’s slideshow! I hope you get a better feel for the day and how it all unfolded! I really feel like their wedding needed the slideshow! It was so fun to photograph and be part of their day!
